The NanoClear™ Flex. A soft silicone gasket that rests on your face instead of a rigid rim pressed into it. That one difference is what every review below is really about.

If you’ve searched “how to fix goggle marks”, you’ve read the promises. This page isn’t one. We pulled the questions swimmers ask us most before buying the Flex and answered each one with what customers wrote afterwards — not with what we’d like to be true.

Names are real, ratings are real, and where someone still gets a faint mark, we quote that too.

01Question 1

Do they actually leave marks, or not?

For most swimmers: no, or much less than anything they wore before. The Flex seals with a soft contoured gasket that spreads its contact across a wide area, instead of a hard rim loaded onto the thin skin around the eye socket. Less force in one spot, same watertight seal.

“I love my new goggles. They definitely do not leave marks around your eyes.”

Linda B. · verified review · NanoClear™ Flex
What the Flex changesNo rigid rim. No strap tension doing the sealing. The two things that print the rings are the two things the design removes.
02Question 2

Won’t they leak if they’re not tight?

That’s the trap with a pressure seal: loosen it to save your face and water comes in at the first turn; tighten it and the rings are back. On the Flex the seal comes from the gasket matching the shape of your eye socket, so the strap only holds position. Most people end up wearing it looser than they expected to.

“Finally tried my Flex goggles during a long-ish (9km) open water swim in turbulent water. I never once had to loosen or adjust the goggles—they didn’t leave me with raccoon eyes, and I saw clearly (even though I was being pummeled by waves).”

“I love them, I can swim 20+ laps with no google adjustments. They stay clear and don’t leak. They leave a slight mark after swimming but this disappears in minutes.”

03Question 3

Does it still work on skin that’s over 50?

This is the question behind most of the messages we get. Skin over 50 holds a crease longer — that part is true and no goggle can change it. What a goggle decides is the input: how much pressure lands on the same two spots every session. Here is what swimmers who told us their age wrote.

“I still have racoon eye but not as bad as before cause of my age. It’s much comfortable to wear and easier to put on and off.”

Carmen G. · verified review · NanoClear™ Flex
The honest versionCarmen still gets a faint mark. We left her review up because it’s the truth for a minority of faces — and she still rated them five stars for the comfort. Prevention, not a cure.
04Question 4

And the fog?

Most anti-fog is a coating sprayed on the inside of the lens, which is why it wears off and why people end up spitting in their goggles. NanoClear™ is bonded into the lens material itself. It still needs a rinse before you put them on — the reviews say so — but it isn’t a film that rubs away.

Bonded in, not sprayed on. NanoClear™ lives in the lens material, so there is no coating to rub off.

05Question 5

What if they don’t suit my face?

Then you send them back. The Flex suits medium-to-wide faces best; narrow faces usually do better in the Strike, which has three bridge sizes. Either way you get 30 days in the water to find out, and the goggles don’t need tags or original packaging to come back.

“I gotta say they are very comfortable and work better than the ones that you take photos to fit your face!? I also think they very much do not leave rings under your eyes-- so these are my new FAVORITE!”

Gayle D. · verified review · NanoClear™ Flex

Is it only the Flex, or all your goggles?

The Flex is the one we point people with marks to. It has the widest, softest gasket in our range and a one-piece stretch bridge instead of sized nose pieces, so it settles onto a medium-to-wide face without being pulled tight.

If your face is narrow, the Strike fits closer and comes with three bridge sizes so you can dial the fit. Both share the same NanoClear™ anti-fog lens. If you’re not sure, order the Flex — the 30-day guarantee exists exactly for this.

06Question 6

What do the four-star reviews say?

Read them before you buy. The pattern is consistent: far less marking than other goggles, not always zero. If a two-hour session in a tight setting leaves a faint line, that is what these people report — and they kept the goggles.

E

“They do not leave a big indentation on my face, but I wouldn’t say “zero” mark as I had hoped from the ads. Overall, though, I am pleased with my purchase.”

“After 60 minutes per swim they remain fog free - as long as the directions to activate that tech are followed. I’ve noticed that the goggles do not leave as much of a indent around my eye area as other brands.”

E
★★★★★

“I did have goggle marks after my 2 hour swim, however, they faded after a few hours. Other goggles have left deep indents and even bruises.”

Elizabeth C. · verified review · NanoClear™ Flex

The straight answer about marks

The Flex is a goggle, not a cream. It stops making new marks by taking the pressure off; it does nothing to a mark you already have. Most people see the rings go or fade before their hair is dry. A few still get a faint line after a long swim. Nobody has to take either group’s word for it — that is what the 30 days are for.

Common Questions

Why do goggles leave marks around my eyes?

Almost every goggle seals by pressing a rigid rim against the skin around your eye socket and holding it there with strap tension. That skin is the thinnest on your face, so 45–90 minutes of the same pressure in the same spot leaves a red, indented line. The tighter the strap, the better the seal — and the clearer the line.

How can a goggle be watertight without being tight?

The Flex gasket is soft silicone shaped to the contours of an eye socket, so it conforms to your face instead of your face having to match a fixed frame. Paired with a split strap, the fit comes from the shape of the seal rather than from how hard you pull. Start looser than you think and only tighten if it lets water in.

Which tint should I pick?

Clear for indoor pools and early mornings, Smoke for a bit of everything, Mirror for full sun and open water. If you swim both indoors and outdoors, two pairs is why the bundle discount exists.

What if the Flex doesn’t work for me?

Every pair is covered by a 30-day money-back guarantee. Swim in them properly — pool, open water, real sessions. If they fog, leak, or still mark you, contact us inside 30 days for a full refund. They don’t need to be in original condition and they don’t need tags.
